Understanding of physics is an important foundation that allows us to see the natural beauty that exists in the universe in which we live and to learn how to live in this amazing world. Physics studies range from studies of the motions of large bodies such as stars, natural waves, the complexities of temperature changes and electromagnetic conductivity to the phenomena associated with the smallest entities such as atoms. Knowledge about all of these things are important to the development of science and technology in the modern world. Furthermore, programming skills are taught along with problem-solving skills, teamwork, knowledge-sharing and technology entrepreneurships through the perspectives and projects involving physics, all of which are essential skills for the 21st Century.

Program Description

Students will learn skills on how to become entrepreneurs and will receive knowledge and learn how to work as part of a team while solving technical problems and writing software through lessons and work projects. Students will learn and research with a teaching staff with specialization in various areas such as on how to use plasma to improve food and material quality and how to detect odors and chemicals using sensors.

Students will also learn how to use light sensors and mobile phones for medical work, how to modify material properties by covering works in thin films made from graphene or metal oxides, how to develop and increase the effectiveness of new solar cells, how to develop tools and equipment for scientific education, and even how to build upon Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Students may also complete their program within three and a half years and pursue additional graduate-level studies in physics at Thammasat University.

Internships or Cooperative Education

Students will receive opportunities for internships at leading organizations in the public and private sectors within the country and abroad that are part of the network of the Faculty of Science and Technology (internship takes place during the summer semester of the third year or at the end of the first semester of the fourth year).

Further Studies

Graduates in physics will also have the academic competence for pursuing advanced level studies domestically and abroad.

Target Occupations After Graduation

Graduates in physics are considered high-quality graduates who will be able to pursue a wide variety of good occupations as can be confirmed by employers and the graduates themselves. Potential occupations include forensics personnel, researcher and developer, software developer, factory quality control officer, engineer, scientist, patent certifier, astronomer, pilot, columnist, academic staff member, and science and technology entrepreneur.

Agencies in which graduates in physics may be able to pursue occupations include government or public organizations, forensic science and medical agencies, technology and energy agencies, security agencies, and academic institutions. Physics graduates will also be able to pursue work in the following industries: energy, machinery, technology, hard disk, electronic, communication and jewelry.
